IVAN PETROV - CLARINET
Ivan Petrov received a solid musical education at a young age and attended a music high school, which led to his early success in international competitions. After graduating from high school, he continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz with Prof. Felix Löffler.
He regularly performs as a chamber and orchestral musician in Germany, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Switzerland. He has already performed on some of the most important stages in Europe, including the NDR Elbphilharmonie, the Cologne Philharmonie and the Berlin Philharmonie. He has also organized his own chamber music concerts for clarinet and piano in Germany and Bulgaria. In 2019, one of his chamber music concerts was broadcast live by Deutschlandfunk and he also took part in recordings for Bulgarian National Radio.
Ivan Petrov has performed as a soloist with various Bulgarian orchestras, including the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Ruse National Theater and the Burgas Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of an international tour with the Laubenheim Chamber Music Ensemble, he performed Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto.
He was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium for his outstanding musical achievements and received funding from the Ernst von Siemens Foundation, the GVL and the Verein Freunde Junger Musiker.
